A life long resident of Virginia, John Jackson received his undergraduate degree from Duke University in 1973 and his law degree in 1976 from William & Mary.   His practice has focused on estate planning, estate administration, taxation and fiduciary litigation. In addition to estate planning for estates of all sizes, he has handled a broad variety of related matters:  IRS audits and appeals, preparation of personal, fiduciary and estate tax returns; will contests, trust reformations, guardianships, partnership accountings, suits for aid and direction, Court ordered gifting programs, and other chancery or fiduciary litigation.  In estate administration, Mr. Jackson has served as personal representative or counsel to the fiduciary for many estates in all of the Northern Virginia counties.

John has been a frequent speaker to professional and civic groups on topics such as estate planning, charitable giving, probate, and trusts. He has served as Chairman of the Fairfax Bar Association's sections on "Wills and Estates" and "Taxation", and served as a member of the Virginia State Bar's Disciplinary Committee. John and Carol, his wife for over 31 years, have three children: Matthew, a graduate of Duke University; Katie, a graduate of Tulane and a Peace Corps volunteer in Paraguay, and Elizabeth, a freshman at Wake Forest.
